| Buffy battles the ghosts of Sunnydale High's
past in a lively seventh-season opener punctuated by droll dialogue.
Veteran Slayer-watchers will recall that Buffy's alma mater was razed at the end of the third season during a fight with a snake-demon mayor. Now revamped and restored, the school has a new crop of students, which includes awkward freshman Dawn. It also has a visitor, Buffy, who can't resist a chance to tour the facility. But her curiosity soon turns to dread when spirits from the old school materialize to harass her. Elsewhere, Giles consoles a guilt-ridden Willow.

| [TVG] Buffy creator Joss Whedon wrote and
directed this riveting free-for-all that marks the end of the series'
impressive seven-year run.
Although Kristy Swanson originated the role of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as the title character in the Whedon-scripted 1992 cult film, it was Sarah Michelle Gellar's rich portrayal that established the Slayer as a pop-culture icon. Here, with the fate of the Earth at stake, the Buffster leads the Scoobies and the Potentials into the Hellmouth for a decisive clash with the First and its demonic minions. Before the battle, however, Buffy must sort out her personal life after Spike spies her kissing Angel. [UPN] Buffy, her friends and the Potentials are the world's last, best hope to beat back the ultimate forces of evil, on the series' volatile finale. Hatching an ingenious and daring plan to destry `The First' and his minions, Buffy turns to those closest to her to help save mankind.
